Prevention is the cornerstone of long-lasting oral health. At Morris Dental, we believe that by detecting potential issues early and providing timely interventions, we can help minimize complications down the road. Our goal is to help all of our patients reach a point where routine exams and cleanings are all that’s needed to maintain a healthy smile.
The Australian Dental Association recommends that regular dental check-ups, typically every six months, are essential for maintaining your oral health. During these visits, we may take photos and X-rays to get a clearer view of any areas of concern. We then provide clear treatment options with full quotes and guide you through each choice, helping you select the best path forward.
Oral hygiene education is a key part of our preventative care. We equip you with the knowledge and techniques needed to maintain optimal oral health at home. Our cleanings, which use advanced EMS Airflow technology, keep your teeth and gums in optimal condition.
We are dedicated to providing gentle and comprehensive care for children, helping them build lifelong healthy habits. From their first visit to adulthood, we strive to create positive dental experiences for young patients. The comfort of your child is our top concern. We gradually introduce new cleaning procedures as children grow, using EMS Airflow technology with a warm water jet to minimize discomfort. We also work closely with excellent pediatric dental specialists for cases where sedation will help the patient.
We participate in the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), which may cover the cost of dental treatment for eligible patients under 17 years old. To check if your child is eligible, please visit the official CDBS site or bring your Medicare card, and we can check in person at our practice.
All our treatment rooms are equipped with ceiling-mounted TVs. This has been a great distraction tool for children and makes their visits more pleasant.
Tooth-related injuries can significantly impact appearance and self-esteem, especially if the front teeth are affected. The Australian Dental Association strongly recommends custom-made sports mouthguards for anyone playing contact sports. At Morris Dental, we understand that traditional dental impressions can sometimes be uncomfortable for younger children. To make the process easier, we’ve invested in 3D scanners, which are not only more comfortable but also more accurate than traditional impressions.
Many people grind or clench their teeth while they sleep, often without realising it. This habit can wear down teeth, reduce their size, and increase the risk of fractures, especially in heavily restored teeth. Over time, the loss of tooth height can weaken teeth and even lead to a more aged appearance. Restoring tooth height can be costly, so it’s best to preserve your tooth structure as long as possible.
At Morris Dental, we use 3D scanners to create custom-fitted nightguards designed to protect your teeth from night-time grinding and clenching. This helps preserve your smile and prevent future damage.
